Chang Su began to learn guzheng at the tender age of 6. By age 7, she was awarded the honor of the “Ten Excellent Young Students of Liaoning Province”. By 10 years of age, Chang won First Prize at the Zheng competition at the China Zheng Arts Festival and began studying under the famous guzheng educator and performer, Wang Zhou. At age 12, Chang was accepted to the Central Conservatory of Music with the highest score of the year.
In recent years, Chang not only worked with many famous conductors such as Zou-Huang Chen, Mu-Hai Tang, Hui-Chang Yan, Li-Hua Tan, but also performed works composed by An-Lun Huang, Wen-Chen Qin, Guo-Pin Jia, Xiao-Bing Lee, Gang-Ping Cao, Xi-Lin Wang, Ying Wang.
Chang has performed many different styles of music. She describes her music as pure, rich, energetic, and spiritual. Chang has participated in many international cultural exchange programs and performed with world-renowned orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from the United Kingdom and the Young Euro Classic Orchestra from Berlin. In addition, Chang Su has performed with many outstanding orchestras in China such as the Tianjin Orchestra, the Hebei Symphony Orchestra, the China National Symphony Orchestra, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.
Chang Su's performances have been broadcast on CCTV, BTV, PHTV, TVSOU, LNTV SDTV and DragonTV.
Currently, Chang is a member of China Nationalities Orchestra Society, the chief guzheng player for the Central Conservatory of Music Orchestra for Youth, a member of the “Gold medal Team” of Central Conservatory of Music and a spokesperson of B-band, an international musical equipment manufacturer.
